Talks on electronic payments in Poland and the Czech Republic at the Polish Embassy in Prague

A meeting of representatives of the Polish payment industry and entrepreneurs operating in the Czech Republic took place today (24 May 2022) at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Prague. The topic was the possibility of using modern payment solutions to support development of Polish and Czech companies. Representatives of the Polish financial and payment industry, represented by PKO Bank Polski and eService, as well as representatives of the largest payment organizations - Visa and Mastercard, also talked about international synergy, partnership and inspiring initiatives conducive to the development of Polish-Czech business.

"Today's world and the challenges posed by reality require modern and customized solutions and synergies in many areas. This is extremely important, especially in the area of financial systems, banking and payments, which act as the circulatory system of a healthy economy. I am proud that Polish bankers, IT specialists and managers have a significant share in creating these solutions not only in Poland, but also in foreign markets, becoming an inspiration and basis for international partnerships," said Antoni Wręga, Chargé D'affaires of Poland in the Czech Republic.

The event, organized by the Polish Embassy in Prague, was carried out in cooperation with representatives of the Polish financial and payment industry operating in the Czech Republic. Among them, the leading role is played by PKO Bank Polski and eService - the leader of the Polish electronic payment market and at the same time the largest operator of this type of payments in Central and Eastern Europe. The company is also present on the Czech market where it has been operating for nearly 8 years under its own brand, as well as under REVO and Moneta brands. Partners of the meeting were Visa and Mastercard, and special guests included representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic.

At the invitation of the organizers, representatives of the largest retail chains operating in Poland and the Czech Republic arrived at the Fürstenberg Palace in Prague. During the meeting, the directions of development, trends, as well as the latest solutions on the electronic payment market were presented. Additionally, emphasis was placed on the value of international cooperation and partnerships formed to support joint initiatives.

Participants in the meeting emphasized the importance of being able to share experiences and observe the direction of change in which the electronic payments industry is moving. The participation of a group of experts representing various branches of the payment industry was also an excellent opportunity to compare trends on both the Polish and Czech markets.
