15,000 codes to access live broadcasts and VOD materials from the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be provided to entrepreneurs that offer modern eService digital payments. This surprise from Visa, a world’s leader in digital payments and the Official Payment Technology Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, has been prepared together with eService and in cooperation with the Player.pl platform and Eurosport channel, official broadcaster of the Olympic Games. As many as 2/3 of the codes will be made available to businesses from one of the sectors of the Polish economy that has been affected by the pandemic the most. Nearly 1/3 will be offered to businesses that want to start or develop a business that utilises POS terminals or an online payment gateway.

eService, the leader of the Polish electronic payments market has prepared together with Visa, among all, a gift in the form of access codes to the player.pl platform and the Eurosport channel, which ensure the most extensive coverage and offer the most content from the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Access will be provided to the businesses served by eService that accept digital transactions. The ambassador of the campaign is Katarzyna Kozikowska, a paracanoeist representing Poland at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and a member of Team Visa. The project is intended to recognise the efforts of entrepreneurs struggling with the effects of the pandemic, and at the same time underline the benefits of using digital payment methods in traditional retail outlets, restaurants and hotels as well as online.

Most of the codes – as many as 10,000 – will be provided to eService payment services users from the hotel and catering industry, without any further obligations, thanks to Visa.

‘Through our long-term partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we have learned firsthand that the Games can be a positive force for good and a way to unify people everywhere through a shared love of sport. While the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 has been postponed for nearly a year, there will be an opportunity to watch the world’s athletes turn uncertainty into resolve – reminding us all, of the exceptional strength and character required to compete on the world’s biggest stage’, said Katarzyna Zubrzycka, Head of Merchant Sales and Acquiring, Central Eastern Europe, Visa.

‘Behind us is an exceptional and difficult year 2020, during which people around the world had to abandon or postpone many dreams and plans for a better time. Among those who shared this experience were athletes preparing for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, as well as many of our clients who are entrepreneurs, especially from the hotel and catering industry particularly affected by the crisis. Today, these difficult moments are becoming history, and athletes, against all odds, will finally have the opportunity to compete for new records and sports achievements. We hope that they and their successes will become an inspiration for Polish entrepreneurs. We have prepared a gift for them together with our partners, Visa, Eurosport and Player.pl. It will give them energy to take further action by evoking positive emotions associated with sport’, said Joanna Seklecka, President of the Management Board of eService.

The campaign organisers have not forgotten about those who have started a new business, resumed activity or expanded their current business thanks to digital payments, following the lifting of restrictions and economic lockdown. They will receive several thousand access codes as gifts for those who order a payment terminal or an online payment gateway service.
Eurosport channel access codes on the Player.pl platform can be activated until 30 September 2021. They will remain valid for 60 days from the date of activation. The entrepreneurs who receive them will be e-mailed an individual code along with activation and usage instructions.
