eService serves payment transactions in Leroy Merlin

In July eService completed the installation of POS terminals in all Leroy Merlin stores – the leading chain of hypermarkets with construction products.

The pilot studies and testing of information solutions took nearly a year. For a few days now eService has been the only operator that supports VISA, MasterCard, Diners Club and American Express payment cards in as many as 47 stores of the chain.

“This shows the confidence in eService, which was possible to build thanks to our complex offer and the quality of the services provided. Our Customers value not only attractive and transparent commission rates for the operation of payment instruments but also the fact that the solutions provided by eService are efficient and reliable, and that the time within which the transaction is made in the sales point is one of the shortest in the market. Owing to this, we are able to provide the best support to our customers, allowing them to focus on serving the shoppers,” says Arkadiusz Bochniak, the Director of the eService Business Department.

The French chain of hypermarkets Leroy Merlin belongs to the Adeo Group (GROUPE ADEO) – the world’s fourth and Europe’s second largest distributor in the construction business. In Poland Leroy Merlin owns 47 stores with the retail space covering between 6,000 and 18,000 square metres. The company’s policy is to promote and support local suppliers and entrepreneurs. For that reason, more than 80% of the goods offered in Leroy Merlin stores come from reliable Polish producers and distributors.

With its share of 40% in the online payment market, eService is the leading acquirer in Poland and in Central and Eastern Europe. The core activity of the Company is to authorise and settle payments made with the use of all types of payment cards: VISA, MasterCard, Diners Club, Discover and American Express. The payments are made in PLN and in over 20 other currencies. Additionally, eService offers such services as topping up mobile phones, operating customer loyalty programmes, operating gift cards and cash withdrawal. The Company’s acceptance chain amounts to nearly 100,000 devices across Poland. eService is co-owned by EVO Payments International and PKO Bank Polski.
